Two helicopters produced by the French company Airbus Helicopter for the State Border Servie of Ukraine arrived in Ukraine.

On January 3, two helicopters produced by the French company Airbus Helicopter for the State Border Guard Servie of Ukraine arrived in Ukraine. Helicopters were obtained under the Intergovernmental Agreement between Ukraine and France for a unified aviation security and civil defense system.First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs SerhiiYarovy said that the two H125 helicopters are very economical, so they are suitable for flight crew training.

"Today, under a contract with the French company Airbus Helicopter, we received two more H125 helicopters. They will carry out the tasks of monitoring the state border.In general, we have already received five H225 helicopters for Emergency and National Guard servicemen.It is planned to establish a Servicing Center,” Serhii Yarovoy said.

In his turn, the Head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, SerhiiDeineko, noted that the new type is in 4-5 times more economical compared to the Mi-8, which is currently in operational service with the SBGS.

“We will be able to make 5 times more flights with the same amount of fuel.The State Border Guard Service really needs such a small, maneuverable, economical helicopter that can be used every day.Using this type of helicopters, we achieve the main goal - the permanent aerial monitoring and prompt response to situational changes on the state border.We are extremely pleased because it is a modern, reliable helicopter,” Serhii Deineko said.

He added that the SBGS will receive 24 such model types of helicopters in different specifications.

“Border guard pilots are ready to work on this type of helicopters. Further plans are to deploy two more squadrons of pilots.But it will be when we have a schedule of new helicopters arrival,” - the Head of SBGS noted.

Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Serhii Honcharov noted that the H125 is the leader in the model range of light helicopters.The State Border Guard Service chose this model because they adapted to monitor the current situation on the state border.

«In the future, the H125 models will fly to Ukraine already with special surveillance equipment. Two helicopters that have arrived today will be used for border guard pilots training.Despite its relatively small size, this helicopter has great flight stability, can take up to 6 crew members aboard, lack of vibration in the cabin, which is necessary for the action of the operator and can stay aloft for a long time in the air without refueling,” Serhii Honcharov said.

It should be noted that in November 2019 training on the basis of manufacturer was completed by air service mechanics of the SBGS units, so that from the first days of operation helicopters will be properly groomed and will receive the necessary regular maintenance in time.In addition, under the circumstances of the intergovernmental agreement, avionics and pilots have also been trained on the manufacturer's base for further transfer of the experience to their colleagues.
